Created by Lee Hopkins Contact

Join the Denver Audubon Society and FANS of Washington Park for a guided birding event

Back by popular demand, Friends and Neighbors of Washington Park and the Denver Audubon Society are offering a free guided bird walk in Washington Park.

Join FANS and the Denver Audubon Society for a free guided bird walk. This roughly 2-hour event will meet at 8:30am and includes a bird observation walk conducted by Audubon Society guides around Grasmere Lake. Open to all ages. Bring your binoculars, cameras, and your curiosity. Please dress for whatever the weather might bring.

The tour will meet in the South High School parking lot (corner of Franklin & Louisiana) for the bird walks. The North-West corner specifically.

This event is timed to correspond with the Great Backyard Bird Count. Join this field trip and help identify and count birds to help scientists better understand and protect birds around the world.

·        If you are a beginning bird admirer and new to bird identification, your are encouraged to try using the Merlin Bird ID app to tell us what birds you are seeing or hearing.

·        If you have participated in the count before and want to record numbers of birds, try the eBird Mobile app or enter your bird list on the eBird website (desktop/laptop).
