Following the loss of the Toys for Tots program in Ionia County in 2025, local residents came together with a shared purpose—to ensure that no child in our community would go without the joy of Christmas. From this collective effort, Holiday Hearts of Ionia County was created to fill that gap and continue the tradition of giving.

About the Adoption Process 
  • You will receive an email with a wishlist within a few days of adopting a family. 
  • The list will include the family's needs/wants from the wishlist, complete with sizing information for the children.
  • There are no parent gift ideas or information; while it is not required or asked of you, if you wish to purchase gifts for the parents, they will be accepted. 
  • We cannot reach out to families regarding specific item requests or follow-up questions due to the volume of requests we have to process.
  • Adoptions will run until Midnight on December 5, 2025
About the Program
Holiday Hearts is a community-led initiative dedicated to supporting children, including those up to 18 years of age and individuals over 18 with disabilities, in need throughout the holiday season. Through the generosity of local families, businesses, and volunteers, we strive to bring hope, comfort, and the true spirit of Christmas to every child in Ionia County.

In response to the significant number of requests to adopt children individually, we are pleased to announce that this option is now available. We invite you to join us in bringing the spirit and joy of Christmas to families throughout Ionia County.
