SWMA x Rusty Wheelbarrow Farm - Composting & Farm Volunteers

Welcome to Rusty!  We are a small community farm and composting site located behind St. Jacobus Church (SWMA's pantry headquarters) in Woodside.  All of the food we grow goes to feeding the community through SWMA's food pantry and other community projects.

Every volunteer shift we are usually processing food scraps for compost, and then working on miscellaneous projects around the farm including planting, harvesting, building new things we need, or dreaming up our next big project.  Actual projects on the day will vary based on season, need, and your own level of comfort/accessibility.  This is a great opportunity if you're looking to get a little fresh air and get your hands dirty.  No experience needed - we'll show you everything you need to know.

– By signing up here, you will serve as SWMA's representative(s) to ensure any produce harvested (if harvesting happens that day) gets to our pantry loaders next door through St. Jacobus's 43rd Ave Entrance.
– Make sure to come with clothes that can get dirty!
