Denver’s extensive Parks and Parkways system is a unique and beautiful feature of the most populated city in the Rocky Mountain region. Started in 1886, only a decade after the city’s founding, access to nature and outdoor recreation are woven into the fabric of Denver. Now consisting of over 280 urban parks, off street trails, historic parkways, natural areas, and more, the parks provide green space and oases of natural beauty to Denverites of all ages.

Join Liv Wisnewski, Temple Buell Assistant Curator of Architecture at History Colorado, to learn about Denver’s Parks and Parkways. Their history, their development, and why they’re so special.
